The effect of formula feeding on the intestinal transcriptome of piglets. (PRJCA035296)

The breast milk is considered as ideal food for infants, but infants receive insufficient breastfeeding due to physiological or psychosocial factors. The formula milk is proposed as a substitute, and there are more infants receiving formula feeding than ever. Numerous studies have highlighted the difference of feeding effects between breast milk and formula milk, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. There is ethical problem in experimental studies of human breast feeding, so we used the pigs which have similar physiological structure to humans to investigate the effects of different feeding practices.
