Monitoring (availability etc.) (SDG 3.1.a)

This indicator measures the level of data collection and monitoring of water quantity and/or quality and its management. Collecting, updating, and sharing timely, consistent and comparable water-related data and information, relevant for science and policy. Effective monitoring
requires ongoing commitment and financing from government. Resources required include appropriate technical capacity such as laboratories, portable devices, online water use control and data acquisition systems. May include a combination of physical data collection, remote sensing, and modelling for filling data gaps.
