Begonia fuchsioides (B. fuchsioides) is non-nodulating closest relative of Datiscaceae, native to Northern South America.DNA was collected from leaves of the shrub in the Nymphenburg Botanical garden were used.We sequenced the genome to a depth of approximately 189X.
The assembled scaffolds of high quality sequences total 374MB, with the contig and scaffold N50 values of 29kb and 154kb respectively. We identified 51,638 protein-coding genes with a mean length of 1.141kb
