Isolation of S. aureus from oral cavity and rectal of the residents in long-term care facilities

To know the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA from the residents in long-term care facilities, S. aureus and MRSA isolates were collected from oral cavity and rectal. The genome sequence of all isolates was conducted and the genes responsible for virulence and antibiotics resistance were identified. Then, the susceptibility of all isolates against various antibiotics were determined to compare the relation with antibiotic-resistant genes.
