An environmental isolate, Ochrobactrum sp. Strain IITR07 (GenBank Accession KP772231) was isolated from oil contaminated site located at Mathura, India. The bacteria were isolated by enrichment culture technique using pyrene, a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), as a sole carbon and energy source. The strain was undertaken for whole-genome sequencing to understand the genetic attributes for degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and explore the genetic basis for biodegradation process at contaminated sites.
