CLINICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL BENEFITS OF PLATELET-RICH PLASMA COMBINED WITH BIOACTIVE GLASS IN ENDODONTIC THERAPY

Endodontic therapy aims not only to eliminate infection within the root canal system but also to promote regeneration of periapical tissues and restore normal biological function. In recent years, regenerative approaches involving platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bioactive glass have gained considerable attention due to their potential to enhance tissue healing and immune modulation. PRP is a rich source of growth factors that stimulate cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and tissue repair, whereas bioactive glass provides osteoconductive, osteostimulatory, and antimicrobial properties. The combination of these biomaterials may offer synergistic effects, improving both clinical and immunological outcomes in endodontic treatment. This study evaluates the clinical and immunological benefits of PRP combined with bioactive glass in endodontic therapy and discusses its role in promoting periapical tissue regeneration and reducing inflammatory responses.
