Two Hymenochaetaceae fungi inhabiting on Populus euphratica

Populus euphratica is the only deciduous and tall arbor that can form forests in the desert with drought, salt alkali and bacterial resistance. Inonotus hispidus Wu 2022-1 and Inocutis levis Cui 19065, collected from Xinjiang, China, are rare macrofungi that grow on wild P. euphratica trees, and may possess potential drought-resistant traits. This study first completed the whole-genome sequencing of Inonotus hispidus Wu 2022-1 and Inocutis levis Cui 19065 to predict genome structure and potential drought-related genes. Combined with transcriptome sequencing under different drought conditions simulated using PEG-6000, the gene expression regulation during the drought tolerance were analyzed.
