资源简介:
This data was used in a study that investigated factors, mechanisms and conditions that can help reduce poverty in the society, so the poor individuals form the unit of analysis and therefore constitute the population of the study. The data was gathered from the primary source, through a one round cross-sectional household survey in the study areas, using structured questionnaire. The data was collected at a single point in time across multiple locations to capture variations in socio-economic contexts. A pilot study of 300 respondents spread across all the study areas was done in February, 2024 to test the appropriateness, validity and reliability of the study instruments. The main study then followed from April to June, 2024. Respondents were assured of the confidentiality of their responses before they began answering the questionnaire. They were also informed that their involvement in responding to the questionnaire was voluntary and not legally obliged to partake in the survey. The questionnaire were made up of structured items mostly adapted from well tested scales that could measure the constructs in the study. The questionnaires were administered by trained assistants, who are knowledgeable in the local dialects of the study areas. The questionnaires were pretested several times to ensure that administrators grasp the intentions of the constructs and the study. Each team had a supervisor who monitors the data collection in real time. The lead researcher visited each team daily to ensure assistants follow the required procedure. In addition lead researcher randomly re-interviewed 5-10% of respondents to verify original responses.
