This dataset supports the manuscript "When more movement means less life: nonlinear structure--vitality coupling across scales in Beijing's Shichahai Historic District" submitted to Humanities and Social Sciences Communications. Study Area Shichahai Historic District, Beijing, China (146.7 hectares). The district contains three interconnected lakes (Qianhai, Houhai, Xihai), traditional hutong residential areas, and commercial/tourism corridors. Line geometry in WGS84 (EPSG:4326). Used as the base network for space syntax analysis. Data Sources Space syntax indicators: Computed using DepthmapX software on the OpenStreetMap road network of the Shichahai Historic District.Weibo check-in data: Collected from Sina Weibo platform (March and September 2024), 12,847 valid points after filtering.Road network: Derived from OpenStreetMap.
