Faecal samples were collected from broilers on days 14, 21, 28 and 34 on two broiler farms and caecal samples following slaughter were collected in the abattoir to enumerate and isolate C. jejuni. Seven isolates were randomly selected from each sampling visit from each farm (n = 63), and were subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility tests. Their genomes were also sequenced to characterise population structure, virulence and antimicrobial resistance determinants, and interstrain variation.
