Data for publication

The repository contains a dataset derived from the characterization of lignocellulosic residues from agricultural activities in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico, with a focus on their potential valorization for activated carbon production. The information is organized in folders and files in Excel and QGIS-compatible formats, enabling both statistical analysis and spatial representation.
The repository structure includes:
QGIS Data folder: vector and raster files in QGIS-compatible formats, representing land use distribution, municipal and hydrological boundaries, and thematic maps of vegetation cover and crop areas.
Coordinates by Municipality folder: an Excel file containing the geographic coordinates of municipalities where agricultural residues were collected and characterized.
Quantitative Analysis folder: Excel files with data on harvested area, production volume, yields, and estimated residue generation by crop.
Physicochemical characterization files: tables with experimental results on cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, ash, and nutrient content (nitrates and phosphates) obtained under standardized methodologies.
Valorization tables: consolidated information on the conversion potential of residues to activated carbon (kg AC/ton of residue), residue types, and possible applications.
