ChinaAI-FSC: A Comprehensive AI-Ready MODIS Fractional Snow Cover Dataset for China (2000-2022)

The dataset is distributed as a multi-part compressed package consisting of one primary archive, AI-Ready China FSC.zip, and 40 split volumes, AI-Ready China FSC.z01 to AI-Ready China FSC.z40. All files must be downloaded and placed in the same directory before decompression in order to obtain the complete AI-Ready MODIS Fractional Snow Cover Dataset. A metadata document (Metadata Specifications.docx) is provided to describe the dataset structure, variable definitions, spatial-temporal attributes, and recommended data usage and application scenarios. In addition, an example sample and Python script (reading_example.py) is included as an example for reading the dataset using the rioxarray library. The full data preparation workflow (including feature-layer generation, sample construction, and preprocessing procedures) and all benchmark modelling scripts used for evaluating six representative machine learning and deep learning models (ANN, SVR, RF, CNN, UNet, and ResNet) are available at: https://github.com/houjin0503/AI-Ready-China-FSC
