Global number of deaths from major natural disasters 2022

In 2022, the most fatal natural disaster was the heatwave in Western, Southern and Central Europe from July 10th to July 20th, which claimed 15,450 lives. Natural disasters claimed around 31,300 lives globally that year and resulted in 313 billion U.S. dollars in economic losses.
