The photograph was submitted to the Stereoscopic Society of America, Cotton was the founder of the American branch, and the envelope contains several signed comments about the technique and subject of the photograph. Some comments about the use of a flash bulb. The envelope is generally in fair condition with creasing and abrasion. The photograph is in good condition.
