To identify genes and pathways differentially expressed in Myf5 subpopulations of muscle stem cells Overall design: Myf5 subpopulations (Myf5High and Myf5Low) of muscle stem cells were isolated from hindlimb muscles of Pax7/Myf5 reporter mice by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Myf5High and Myf5Low cells were defined as two Pax7-positive subpopulations at opposite ends of the Myf5-E2Crimson fluorescence spectrum. In total, 4 different conditions were analyzed: male Myf5High, male Myf5Low, female Myf5High, and female Myf5Low. We performed two independent replicates per condition, each replicate consisting in a pool of 4 mice.
