An analytical model of the mechanism of microwave radiation of a streamerless stationary corona discharge caused by a discrete structure of the discharge current consisting of a set of electron avalanches is developed. The shape, amplitude and directional pattern of electromagnetic pulses emitted by electron avalanches of positive and negative corona discharges on an electrode with a hemispherical end are determined. The spectral intensity of electromagnetic radiation of positive and negative corona discharges on a spherical electrode is calculated depending on the electrode radius and discharge current. A tendency for the frequency and intensity of the considered radiation of a corona discharge with a given current to increase with a decrease in the radius of curvature of the corona electrode is detected. Objects of natural and laboratory origin are proposed, in which the avalanche mechanism of microwave radiation generation can manifest itself with an intensity sufficient for its registration.
