PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method capable of detaching an ink component， etc. from a pulp raw material in a floatation step and discharging pitch dispersed in water by the detaching out from a system. SOLUTION: A production method of a used paper pulp includes performing floatation in a state in which cationic polymer containing a constituent unit derived from diallyldialkylammonium monomer， monochloramine， and a deinking agent are subjected to coexist with pulp slurry， in which a weight average molecular weight of the cationic polymer is 10，000-150，000.
