Import value of food and live animals into Libya 2016-2019

The imports of food and live animals into Libya reached an estimated value of around 44.8 billion Libyan dinars (roughly 10 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019. The import value increased compared to the previous year. In the period under review, the imports of food and live animals were significantly higher than the exports of same products. The resulting trade deficit is cause of concern for the country's food security.
