Thirteen flotation samples and one charcoal sample from four
archaeological sites in the vicinity of Las Cruces, New Mexico were
processed and analyzed. The purpose of this investigation was to recover
and identify archaeologically significant macrobotanical remains and,
therefore, gain a better undertanding of prehistoric plant use. All of the
analyzed samples were removed from archaeologically defined hearths and
roasting pits (Table 1).
