This dataset contains two shpfile data.The shpfile data named as 'Global_large_inland_waterways' provides physical characteristic of inland waterways at reach scale for 66 large rivers with basin areas larger than 100,000 km<sup>2 </sup>in 2015. The attributes including freeze-up duration (FreezeDura, day), actual minimum maintenance depth (Depth_Act, m), idealized minimum maintenance depth (Depth_Idea, m), actual bearing capacity (BC_Act, 10<sup>8 </sup>t/yr), and idealized bearing capacity (BC_Idea, 10<sup>8 </sup>t/yr).The shipfile data named as 'global_large_river_basin' provides both physical and socio-economic characteristics of inland waterways at basin scale for 66 large rivers with basin areas larger than 100,000 km<sup>2 </sup>in 2015.
