This dataset was standardizedly constructed based on database field specifications. It was manually extracted and systematically organized using the statistical yearbooks of Hunan Province and its prefecture-level cities from 1980 to 2010, as well as the CNKI Yearbook Database. The dataset contains indicator information including the number of administrative units at county and city levels, as well as the counts of municipal districts, towns, and townships. The dataset includes one Excel file titled "Hunan Provincial Administrative Divisions 1980-2010.xls".
