To investigate the responses of M. truncatula plants to drought stress under rhizobial inoculation and nitrogen fertilisation, plants were grown for 20 days under well-watered conditions. Two water treatments were then imposed for the next 12 days: 95% field capacity (FC) and complete water withholding. Total RNA was extracted from leaves of 20-day-old and 32-day-old plants and sequenced using Illumina HiSeq platform. Differential expression analysis was performed by comparing rhizobium-inoculated and N-fertilised plants under both well-watered and drought conditions. This dataset reveals how these two treatments differentially regulate transcriptomic responses during drought stress.
