Erbium is a common neutron poison, and it is essential to measure and analyze its content in the production processes of nuclear fuel. This study investigates the feasibility of detecting large-volume erbium samples using PGNAA (Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis) technology. A measurement platform was established using a deuterium-tritium (D-T) neutron generator and a high-purity germanium detector. Erbium oxide was selected as the sample, and the measurement analysis was conducted using the 815.9 keV characteristic peak emitted from the reaction of fast neutrons with erbium. The associated dataset includes prompt gamma-ray spectra measured by the HPGe detector, delayed gamma-ray spectra from copper activation, and counts from the He3 neutron detector.
