Mining probiotic biogold from dairy animals

Bovine mastitis is one of the most devastating diseases in the dairy industry which causes significant impact on milk production, milk quality, and the dairy industry's economic profit. Irrational use of antibiotics has raised worries about the emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which poses a serious threat to the wellbeing of animal health and raises public health concern by spreading AMR gene to human. Probiotics, that can produce antimicrobial compounds may exhibit either bactericidal or bacteriostatic properties, may be a sustainable-alternative therapeutic for the prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis. Therefore, we are mining probiotic biogold from the different dairy sources to combat mastitis.
