Transcriptomic profiling of C. elegans hermaphrodites and feminized (fem-1) individuals following a 2 hour interaction with males or without a male interaction

Transcriptomic profiling of young (day 4 of life) or middle-aged (day 8 of life) WT hermaphrodites and feminized (fem-1) individuals that either never interacted with males (him-5) or that received male sperm (successfully mated) during a brief, 2 hours interaction with males (him-5) when young (day 3 of life) or middle-aged (day 7 of life). The aim of this study was to understand the molecular differences between individuals that succumb (have a shortened lifespan) to a brief interaction with males versus those that are resistant and live a normal lifespan after a brief interaction with males.
