A Fusarium species with capability to colonise and hydrolyse polyester plastics (polyurethane and polyethylene terephthalate) was enriched from soil-plant systems. To enrich and determine relevant genes for polymer hydrolysis transcriptomic and proteomic sequencing was performed on the fungus cultured with the two plastics. In our cultivation criteria, each of the plastics (PU and PET) were distinctively added as sole carbon sources to the minimal growth media, while glucose was incorporated in the control treatments.
