The table includes effect sizes and p-values (β (95% CI), p-value) for significant associations only. Values of fasting serum triglycerides, serum insulin, plasma glucose, and HOMA-IR were logarithmically transformed prior to statistical analyses, and their effect sizes (β) are presented as the increase/decrease in percent. P-values were calculated assuming an additive model (padd). BMI, waist circumference and waist-hip ratio were adjusted for age and sex.
