Paenibacillus polymyxa HY96-2 performed remarkable biocontrol efficacy against many plant pathogens, and also showed high growth promotion in many plants. This strain had been developed into a series of pesticides for controlling soil-borne and leaf diseases. And the pesticides had been commercialized in China. In order to clarify its biocontrol mechanism and some theoretical basis for biosynthesis of its antibiotics, the whole genome of HY96-2 had been sequenced and analyzed. Which will help the development of application technology of the commercialized pesticides, and the development of new products with its antibiotics.
