The SIIRI Dental Peri-Implant Biofilm Cohort

The "Safety-Integrated and Infection-Reactive Implants" (SIIRI) Dental Peri-Implant Biofilm Cohort aims to identify infection-specific characteristics that can reliably detect pathogenic biofilms and distinguish clinically relevant infections - such as mucositis and peri-implantitis-from non-pathogenic bacterial colonization on dental implants. It is the basis for studies that comprehensively analyze various peri-implant parameters with and without peri-implant infections to explore the diversity and similarities of bacterial characteristics and correlate these findings with the severity of clinical and pathological symptoms.
