Wildfire in Bulgaria (2024-07-18)

On 18 July 2024 a huge wildfire has been located in Yambol Region, Bulgaria, close to the border with Turkey. The event is on-going and spreading with damage expected. All available firefighting forces including 2 helicopters were sent in order to stop the main directions of the fire. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial roughestimation, wild fire extent and damage assessment emergency mapping.
