To elucidate the overview effect of Suc on global transcript abundance in rice, we used high-throughput sequencing to compare the expression profiles of control and Suc-treated rice. a total of 2126 (1416 induced and 710 repressed, 1559 (707 induced and 852 repressed) and 1894 (1162 induced and 710 repressed) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified after Suc treatment for 2, 4 and 8 h, respectively. Venn analysis revealed that a total of 126 genes were upregulated in all three time points after Suc treatments . Among the enriched pathways, plant hormone signal transduction (dosa04075), alpha-Linolenic acid metabolism (dosa00592), MAPK signaling pathway (dosa04016), plant-pathogen interaction (dosa04626) and Flavonoid biosynthesis (dosa00941) may be involved in rice blast defense.
