Acute nitrite exposure causes gut microbiota dysbacteriosis and proliferation of pathogenic Photobacterium in shrimp

The effects of nitrite on shrimp gut microbiota were investigated using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, bacterial isolation, genomic analysis, and physiological and infection experiments. These findings provide novel insights into the disease mechanism in shrimp under conditions of environmental change.
