Currently there are XX JCV genotypes circulating in the entire world, and each of which is associated with a defined geographic area. Taken into account the high prevalence of JCV in general population and the early age of acquisition commonly close maternal WWW, this data is frequently utilized to trace human migrations.The 610 IG region comprise 3’ part of the VP1, 5’ of LTAg coding region and the region between both reading frames and it was previously established as a region of the JCV genome that contains abundant genotype-determining sites.
