Aerosol climatology for the ARRA reanalysis

This file contains the aerosol loads (kg m-2) as a function of month, pressure, latitude and longitude, used in the radiation scheme of the AROME model configuration for the ARRA reanalysis. This version has is based on the CAMS reanalysis (Inness et al. 2020) over the period 2003-2024, and extended before 2003 using the CNRM TACTIC dataset used in CMIP6 climate simulations (Michou et al. 2020). Volcanic aerosols have been added to the sulfate load in order to take into account the main historical eruptions (up to 2014) following the CMIP6 volcanic forcing. The horizontal resolution of this dataset is 3°, with aerosol loads distributed on 60 vertical levels, as in the original aerosol climatology of Bozzo et al. (2019).
