The aim of this project is to study the genetic information of Pleomorphomonas sp. strain T1.2MG-36 isolated from the deep subsurface of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (Huelva, Spain) in strict anaerobic conditions. It was isolated from a rock core obtained at 63.55 mbs (meters below surface); during the Iberian Pyrite Belt Subsurface Life Detection project (IPBSL). It was isolated from a enrichment culture supplemented with acetate in a N2:CO2 (80:20) atmosphere.
