STIX reconstructed images: SOL20241229T1120 flare

The file contains STIX images reconstructed using MARLIN algorithm for two time intervals and four energy bands. MARLIN (Siarkowski et al. 2020, doi:10.1515/astro-2020-0022) is an algorithm utilising classical Lucy-Richardson iteration. The images were used for comparison with MeerKAT radio observations of an M1.3 GOES class solar flare. Radio images combined with cotemporal hard X-ray images and magnetic field extrapolations show that the radio sources are located within distinct magnetic structures, further revealing their association with different populations of accelerated electrons. More details are given in the linked paper. PNG images of reconstructed HXR sources are presented with the time and energy band used for reconstructions. They show HXR intensity distribution in the vicinity of the analysed flare. Colour bar at the top of a plot shows the intensity scale in photons/s/keV/cm^2.
