Investigating gene expression in kidney in response to water deprivation in rodents

To identify genes responding to water deprivation, we carried out dehydration experiment in four rodent species (mouse, acomys, gerbil and hamster). For each species, three control animals received normal water intake while three restricted animals received only 30% of their daily intake during 48h. At the end of the 48h, kidneys were dissected to perform bulk RNAseq. The libraries were prepared using TruSeq v2 kit from Illumina and sequenced in single-end (50bp).
