Arctic-boreal methane emissions estimated using the Jena CarboScope Global Atmospheric Inversion System

This dataset accompanies the study on quantifying Arctic-Boreal methane emissions using atmospheric observations and a global inverse model. It consist of a single netcdf file with a set of optimised methane fluxes (CH4), estimated by atmospheric inverse modelling using the Jena CarboScope Global Atmospheric Inversion System. These surface fluxes are monthly mean values for total (after subtracting soil uptake) and per category emissions, with a horizontal resolution of ~3.8° latitude x 5° longitude. The fluxes cover the period of January 2010 to December 2021 and units are TgCH4/year.
