Systemic Regulation of Iron Acquisition in Arabidopsis Under Heterogeneous Iron Distribution

We performed RNA-seq analysis on split-root iron starvation treatment experiments. Genome-wide expression analysis showed that local iron depletion of a root system upregulated several genes involved in iron uptake and signaling, such as IRT1, in a distant part of the roots exposed to the iron-sufficient conditions.
