Myxococcus fulvus HW-1. Myxococcus fulvus HW-1 (ATCC BAA-855) was isolated from seawater in China. This strain can tolerate salinity concentrations of up to 4%, however forms fruiting bodies only in concentrations of less than 2.1%. This organism will be used for comparative analysis with other myxobacteria.
