Canadian Gallup Poll, January 1994

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions on the past election, Jean Chretien, prospective purchases for the next year, and attitudes toward Canada's role as Peacekeepers. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as neighbourhood safety, possibility for peace between Israel and Palestine, and Northern Ireland, the regulation of violence in video and computer games, and social assistance. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: election; Jean Chretien; peacekeeping; the regulation of violence; peace; major purchases over the next year; and political party preference. Basic demographic variables are also included.
