As of 29 March, and starting since 25 March, up to 44 forest fires are active in Mexico. Some Federal States such as Nuevo León and Tamaulipas have been seriously affected, with up to 1,500 hectares burnt. In Nuevo León Civil Protection authorities reported that the fires in the Sierra de Santiago have not stopped yet, leading to the emergency evacuation of local communities<br>
