Whole genome sequencing of root growth mutants in tomato

The root system is essential for plant growth and development. Manipulation of root system architecture (RSA) may improve water and nutrient capture under normal and extreme climate conditions. With the aim to initiate the genetic dissection of root development in tomato, we screened a highly mutagenized Micro-Tom collection to search for mutants affected in several developmental traits during early growth, focusing on specific RSA traits.
