Population genomics of the invasive ant Cardiocondyla obscurior

We designed this study to investigate how the invasive species C. obscurior cope with the reduced genetic diversity in its introduced populations. We conducted pool-seq as well as single individuals of ants collected in Brazil, Spain, Netherlands and Taiwan. The samples were samples were sent to the Cologne Center for Genomics (CCG) for Illumina NovaSeq sequencing (paired end 150 bp reads). Pooled samples were sequenced to an average coverage of 75x, while the single individual samples were sequenced to a coverage >12x.
