Number of venture capital deals in Canada 2013-2023

The number of venture capital deals in Canada increased overall between the first quarter of 2013 and the fourth quarter of 2023, albeit with fluctuation. There were 100 fewer VC deals signed in 2023 than in the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2023, a total of 142 VC deals were signed. Overall, the highest number of deals signed in 2023 were in the first quarter, when the deal count came to 186.
