Fraction of annual number of hours suitable for wind power generation: A global dataset based on hourly CMIP6-based ISIMIP3b climate model data

This dataset provides the fraction of annual number of hours suitable for wind power generation as NetCDF files and compiled maps as PNG files. The calculation is based on hourly CMIP6-based ISIMIP3b climate model data (GFDL-ESM4, IPSL-CM6A-LR, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MRI-ESM2-0, UKESM1-0-LL) across the historical, ssp126, ssp370, and ssp585 experiments. Historical data is provided from 1981-2010 in 5-year slices. Scenario data is provided from 2015-2100 in 5-year slices. The Teddy-Toov (v1.3) is used for the temporal disaggregation of daily ISIMIP3b climate data to hourly data (Zabel and Poschlod 2023).
