The Impact of Deciduous Forest and Topography on Snowpack Dynamics in a Headwater Catchment in the Southern Andes Cordillera

This dataset contains the meteorological forcing data and model configuration filesused to simulate snow accumulation and melt processes in a headwater catchmentof the Southern Andes Cordillera, Chile, using the Cold Regions Hydrological Model (CRHM). A first model configuration includes four Hydrological Response Units (HRUs)representing the locations of snow observations under open and under-canopy conditionson north- and south-facing slopes. This configuration was used for model evaluationthrough comparison with observed snow depth and snow water equivalent. A second configuration includes twenty HRUs representing an elevation gradientcombined with slope aspect and canopy cover. This configuration was used to analyzespatial patterns of snowpack dynamics after model evaluation. The same meteorological forcing was used for all simulations.This dataset accompanies the manuscript by Bernal-Mujica et al. (2026).
