The Norwegian Value Surveys, 1990

The survey is part of an international project about studies of ethical principles and opinions. Data from a number of other countries within the same project is also available at NSD, see World Values Survey and European Values Survey. Data form the Norwegian value surveys in 1982, 1990 and 1996 are also available. The data collection in 1990 was, as in 1981, lead by Prof. Ola Listhaug, Department of Sociology and Political Science, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and financed by NAVF and NORAS. The aim was to gather data that makes it possible to describe and analyze attitudes and ethical value systems in the Norwegian society, describe how values in the Norwegian society is distributed compared to values in a variety of countries in West-Europe, USA and Japan, and study changes in values and attitudes over time by connecting the data to the survey in 1982.
