In the fiscal year 2022, the volume of renewable electricity purchases in Japan reached about 122.1 billion kilowatt hours. Figures increased continuously since fiscal 2013 when the purchase volume stood at around 18.1 billion kilowatt hours. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Japanese government is currently working on increasing the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation.
