This dataset contains the data underlying the figures in the associated Nature Communications article on high-spin state formation and quintet-mediated emission in intramolecular singlet fission systems based on diphenylhexatriene (DPH) oligomers. The data were acquired from DPH dimer and trimer samples using a range of spin-sensitive and optical spectroscopic techniques. These include transient electron paramagnetic resonance (trEPR), continuous-wave optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR), steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, magnetic-field-dependent photoluminescence measurements, and ultrafast transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy in picosecond and nanosecond time regimes. All measurements were performed on thin films or solutions under controlled temperature and magnetic field conditions as described in the Methods section of the associated publication. The deposited Excel file is organised into individual sheets, each corresponding to a specific figure or supplementary figure. Each sheet contains the data to generate the published plots, with clear column headers indicating the physical quantities (e.g. magnetic field, wavelength, time delay, intensity, ODMR contrast, etc.). No specialised software is required to access or use the files.
